IIT Indore invites applications from outstanding, highly-motivated Indian nationals (and those of
Indian origin/holding PIO cards) for faculty positions at the levels of Assistant and Associate

(A) QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate Professor: Ph.D. degree with first class or equivalent in the appropriate branch/ relevant
areas of specializations with a very good academic record and being active in research as evidenced
by high impact publications. He/ she should have at least six years of post-PhD experience in
teaching / industry / research, of which at least three years of experience should be at the level of
Assistant Professor (Grade I)/ Senior Scientific Officer / Senior Design Engineer, or equivalent.
Assistant Professor (Grade I): Ph.D. degree with first class or equivalent in the appropriate branch
/ relevant areas of specializations and with a very good academic and research record and at least
three years of post-PhD Research/Teaching/Industry experience. Candidates not satisfying the
required post-PhD experience criterion for direct recruitment as Assistant Professor (Grade I) may
be put on tenure track as Assistant Professor (Grade II).
(B) PAY STRUCTURE:
Associate Professor: To be appointed in the minimum Basic Pay of Rs. 1,39,600/- pm in the Pay
Level 13A2 as per 7th CPC. The total emoluments in the minimum Basic Pay will be Rs. 1, 64,688/-
pm.
Assistant Professor (Grade I): To be appointed in the minimum Basic Pay of Rs. 1, 01,500/- pm in
the Pay Level 12 as per 7th CPC. The total emoluments in the minimum Basic Pay will be
Rs. 1, 21,823/- p.m. On completion of three years of service, as an Assistant Professor (Grade I) shall
move to in the Pay Level 13A1, minimum Basic Pay Rs. 1,31,400/- pm and the total emoluments in
the minimum Basic Pay will be Rs. 1, 54,898/- pm.
Assistant Professor (Grade II): To be appointed in the minimum Basic Pay of Rs. 70,900/- in the
Pay Level 10 as per 7th CPC. The total emoluments in the minimum Basic Pay will be Rs. 87,321/-
p.m. After one year of service as Assistant Professor (Grade II) in the above pay shall move to in the
Pay Level 11.
(C) SUPPORT FOR PROFESSIONAL ADVANCEMENT OF FACULTY:
 The Institute provides a Cumulative Professional Development Allowance (CPDA) of Rs 3 Lakhs
for every block period of 3 years, for presenting papers at conferences and towards membership fee
of professional bodies and contingency expenditure.
 Reimbursement of relocation charges is upto Rs 1, 00, 000/- for the faculty members joining from
abroad and Rs. 75, 000 for the faculty members joining from India.
The relocation reimbursement charges include the cost of air fare for self and spouse with the cost of
transportation of goods for faculty members joining from abroad. The relocation reimbursement
charges for faculty members joining within India include the cost of air fare for self and dependents
with the cost of transportation of goods.
 Cashless OPD and IPD medical facility in the leading hospitals in Indore and well equipped
institute dispensary for employees and their dependent family members.
(D) GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Age limit: Below 35 years for Assistant Professor (Grade I); below 45 years for Associate Professor.
Age relaxation to reserved category candidates will be applicable as per Government of India
rules.
2. In all cases age limit will be reckoned as on last date of submission of online application.
3. The requirements of minimum educational qualification/experience/age may be relaxed in the
case of candidates with outstanding credentials evidenced by excellent publication record,
research experience, etc.
4. Separate applications must be filled if a candidate is applying for a position in more than one
Centre/Discipline/School with different email id.
5. Mere fulfilling eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being called for interview.
6. The Institute reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post(s) at any time without assigning
any reason.
7. If a candidate is not found suitable for the post applied may be considered for lower post.
8. Candidates called for interview will be reimbursed apex air fare by Economy class from the place
of their residence and back by the shortest route, preferably by Air India.
9. No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from candidates regarding conduct and result
of interview and reasons for not being called for interview.
10. All reserved caregory candidates, including Persons with Disabilities (PWD), fulfilling the
eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply.
11. Persons employed in Government/Semi Government Organization, Autonomous bodies or
Educational Institutions must apply through proper channel OR shall provide No Objection
Certificate at the time of Interview.
12. The candidate is responsible for the correctness in the information provided in the application. If it

candidature/appointment is liable to cancelled/terminated.

IIT Indore is an institution of National Importance established by the Government of
India in 2009. It is one of the eight new Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) established
by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India under The
Institutes of Technology Act, 1961 (amended in 2012). Its campus is located in Simrol,
Indore, Madhya Pradesh which is approximately 25 km from downtown Indore.
IIT Indore invites applications from Indian nationals having excellent academic record
and relevant work experience for the following position purely on temporary and
contractual basis:
1. Manager (Contractual) 1- Post
Qualification & Experience: B.Sc or equivalent with MBA / CA / ICWA with two years
of experience in Finance/Management related areas in reputed organization
Salary: The salary will be Rs. 40,000/- pm (consolidated).
Upper Age Limit: 35 Years
General Instructions:
1. The requirements of minimum qualification, experience and/or age may be relaxed
in case of candidates with outstanding credentials and higher experience.
2. Experience will be reckoned on last date of submission of application.
3. Candidature of applicant shall be subjected to verification of testimonials at a
subsequent stage i.e., at the time of interview. In case candidate fails to submit the
required supporting documents (as mentioned by them in their CV), his / her
candidature shall not be considered for interview.
4. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.
5. The appointment will be initially for one year on contract on IIT roles. That will be
renewed for further period based on the performance of the candidate and need of
the institute. Selected candidates will be entitled for OPD facilities at Institute
Dispensary. He / She will also entitle for Earned Leave and Casual Leave as per
rules.
6. The contractual appointment is not a regular employment and does not entitle any
claim or privileges or benefits of regular employment.
