Educational and other qualifications
Essential:
1) Good academic record with at least 50% marks in Master’s Degree in any branch of
Communication/Health and Extension Education/Social Sciences from a recognized
University/Institution.
2) Doctoral degree / recognized published work of equivalent merit in any branch of
Communication/Health and Extension Education/Social Sciences from a recognized
University.
3) 10 years of experience in postgraduate teaching and / or experience in research at
the University / National Level Institutions, including experience of guiding research
at doctoral level.
 OR
In exceptional cases, the teachers with 15 years of UG / PG teaching / research
experience could also be considered.

4) Evidence of published work of high quality during the last four years.

Desirable:
1) Experience preferably in Health & Extension Education or any branch of
communication in health and family welfare.
2) Three years administrative experience in a responsible position.
2. Professor (Reproductive Bio-Medicine): One post (UR – on Direct
Recruitment)

1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in part II of the third schedule

2) Postgraduate degree in Surg./Med./Obst. & Gynae./ Such as MD/MS or equivalent
degree of a recognized University.

Educational and other qualifications
Essential:
1) Medical qualification included in the first or the second schedule or part II of the
third schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act
1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in part II of the third schedule

2) Postgraduate degree in Medical Care and Hospital Admn. Like MHA of AIIMS, MD

4) Evidence of published work of high quality during the last five years

8. Assistant Professor (Health Economics) : One post (Reserved for ST)

Essential:

9. Assistant Professor (Bio-Medical Research): One post (Reserved for SC)
 Scale of pay (pre-revised): Rs.15600-39100+AGP 6000 + NPA (for Medical)
Age limit: Upto 35 years (relaxable upto 5 years for govt. servants and
employees of autonomous Institutes under Govt.)
Educational and other qualifications
Essential - For Medical
1) Medical qualification included in the first or the second schedule or part II of the
third schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act
1956. Holders of educational qualifications included in part II of the third schedule
should also fulfil the conditions stipulated in section 13(3) of the Indian Medical
Council Act, 1956.
2) Postgraduate degree in Surg./Med./Obst. & Gynae./ or equivalent degree from a
recognized University/Institution.
3) At least 3 years teaching/training/research experience as Demonstrator/Tutor
/Registrar/Resident in the Medicine Surgery, Obst./Gynae.
Essential – For Non-Medical
1) Good academic record with at least 50% marks in Master's degree in Physiology,
Zoology or Biochemistry with specialization in Reproductive Endocrinology from a
recognized University/Institution.
2) Doctoral degree in Physiology/Zoology/Biochemistry/ Male contraception/
Reproductive Endocrinology.
10. Assistant Professor (Statistics & Demography): Two posts (1UR & 1 OBC
against leave vacancy, on contractual basis).
 Scale of pay (pre-revised): Rs.15600-39100 + AGP 6000
Age limit: Upto 35 years (relaxable upto 5 years for govt. servants and employees of
autonomous Institutes under Govt.)
Educational and other qualifications
Essential:
1) Good academic record with at least 50% marks in Master’s degree in Statistics or
Demography or Mathematics with Statistics from a recognized University /
Institution.
2) A doctoral degree in any branch of Statistics / Demography / Mathematics with
Statistics from a recognized University / Institute.
Desirable:
1) Experience in the field of Health and Family Welfare.
11. Assistant Professor (RBM-Clinic): Two posts (1 UR & 1 OBC)
Scale of pay (pre-revised): Rs.15600-39100+AGP 6000 + NPA
Age limit: Upto 35 years (relaxable upto 5 years for govt. servants and
employees of Autonomous Institutes under Govt.)
Educational and other qualifications
Essential:

12. Assistant Professor (Anthropology) : One post (UR)
Scale of pay (pre-revised): Rs.15600-39100+AGP 6000
Age limit: Upto 35 years (relaxable upto 5 years for govt. servants and employees of
Autonomous Institutes under Govt.)
Educational and other qualifications
Essential:
1) Good academic record with at least 50% marks in Master’s degree in Social/Cultural
Anthropology from a recognized University / Institution.
2) A doctoral degree in any branch of Social Anthropology from a recognized University
/ Institution.
Desirable:
Experience in the field of health and family welfare.
GENERAL
 Age limit as on 1
st July, 2018. Relaxation admissible for SC /ST/ OBC/PH and
persons in Govt. Service etc. as per Central Govt. Rules.
 One post of Assistant Professor will be preferred to fill through OH (PH/OL) candidate.
 The age limit prescribed for direct recruits may not apply to departmental candidates
competing as direct recruits.
 Candidates working in Govt. / Semi Govt. Organizations must apply through proper
channel along with attested ACRs/APARs of last 5 years.
 Unfurnished accommodation may be provided subject to availability and on payment
of prescribed rent.
 Mere fulfilling the essential qualifications does not entitle a candidate to be called for
interview.
 Late applications / incomplete applications / interim enquiries will not be entertained.
 Number of vacancies may be increased or decreased.
 Canvassing in any form by or on behalf of any candidate will disqualify the candidate.
 No correspondence will be entertained from the applicant either before or after the
selection. The decision of the Institute would be final.
 NIHFW reserves the right to either fill up all the posts, or some of the posts or none of
them without assigning any reason.
 Pay and allowances have been adopted as per UGC guidelines as amended time to
time for faculty positions in the Institute. The regular members of the faculty are also
allowed the benefit of Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) under which promotions
are available up to the posts in the Academic Grade Pay (AGP) of Rs.10,000 (prerevised).
 Candidates applying for OBC posts must be covered under the Central List of OBC
and must have valid certificate duly issued by the competent authority.
