APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FORTHE FOLLOWING FACULTY POSITIONS
1. The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) a Deemed to be University u/s 3 of UGC Act,
1956 is a premier educational institution significantly contributing in the sphere of Human Resource
Development for the Defence Forces by way of imparting education, research and training on Defence
Technology to the officers of Armed Forces, Scientists of the DRDO, Technical officers of the Ordnance
Factory Board, Directorate of Quality Assurance, Defence Public Sector Undertakings and friendly foreign
countries. The Institute is also active in carrying out result oriented research as required for defence and
national security.
2. The Institute is located in a picturesque environment on the banks of Khadakwasla lake surrounded
by Sahyadri hills. There is an all weather road between NDA and DIAT. The nearest Airport (30 kms) is at
Lohegaon, Pune. The DIAT Campus is well served by the Pune Municipal Transport buses.
3. DIAT invites applications from the eligible candidates (Only Indian Nationals) for Faculty positions at
the level of Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in following Academic Departments:-

5. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT:
(A) For Materials Engg, Electronics Engg, Aerospace Engg and Mechanical Engg.

1 Assistant Professor : Essential:
a) Ph. D. Degree with a First Class at Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the
appropriate branch of Engg., & Tech., and relevant experience of 2 years in
teaching, research and/or industry at the level of Lecturer or equivalent
grade.
Desirable:
i) Teaching, research, industrial and/or professional experience in relevant
area in a reputed organization;
ii) Published work, such as research papers, patents filed/ obtained, books,
and/or technical reports;
iii) Experience of guiding the project work/dissertation of UG/PG/Research
students or supervising R&D projects in industry

2 Associate Professor : Essential:
i) Ph.D. Degree with First Class at Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the
appropriate branch of Engg., / Tech., and relevant experience of 5 years
in teaching, research and / or industry at the level of Lecturer/Assistant
Professor or equivalent grade, excluding period spent on obtaining the
research degree.
Desirable:
i) Teaching, research, industrial and/or professional experience in relevant
area in a reputed organization;
ii) Published work, such as research papers, patents filed/ obtained,
books, and/or technical reports;
iii) Experience of guiding the project work/dissertation of UG/PG/Research
students or supervising R&D projects in industry.

(B) For Technology Management Discipline
Assistant Professor : 1. Essential:
First Class Master’s Degree in Technology Management /Project Management / in a
management related discipline or first class in two year full time PGDM declared
equivalent by AIU / accredited by the AICTE / UGC.
2. Desirable:
i) Teaching, research, industrial and / or professional experience in a reputed
organization;
ii) Papers presented at Conferences and / or published in refereed journals

6. APPLICATION FEE:
An application fee of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) (no application fee for
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates) is payable separately for each post which should
be ONLY in the form of crossed DD drawn in favour of “Vice Chancellor, D.I.A.T.(DU), PUNE”,
payable at State Bank of India, Girinagar Branch (Code 02155), PUNE-411025, duly enclosed
along with the application may be sent to “Deputy Registrar (Admin), Defence Institute of
Advanced Technology (A Deemed to be University), Girinagar, Pune-411025.
7. HOW TO APPLY:
The Application Form, prescribed application fee, recent passport size photograph (affix) and
educational qualifications (provide copies) including Ph. D indicating the year of obtaining the degree,
list of publications (with reprints of the best papers), API details and supporting documents
(Annexure- II), teaching/research experience, date of birth etc, and other testimonials in support of
experience etc. should be sent in a sealed envelope super-scribed “Application for the post of ----------
--------------------------against Advt. No.01/FP/2015 to the “Deputy Registrar (Admin), Defence
Institute of Advanced Technology (Deemed University), Girinagar, Pune-411025. The last date
for receipt of applications is 30th May 2015. Applications received after last date will not be
considered.

8. GENERAL CONDITIONS/INFORMATION:
i) As per UGC regulations 2010, candidates for faculty positions should fulfill the
minimum score requirement under the API (Academic Performance Indicator) scoring system.
Please read the instructions given in UGC regulations 2010 before calculating API score. Only
that API scores which have been accrued after 01stJanuary 2006 will be taken into consideration.
The candidate should satisfy himself/herself that he/she fulfills the minimum score requirement
under the API scoring system. It may be noted that only those who satisfy the minimum
prescribed API scores, will be considered for further selection procedure. [Note: This para is not
applicable for the post of Assistant Professor (stage 1)].
ii) Incomplete applications will not be entertained by the Institute.
iii) The Institute reserves the right to consider and to fill positions in any of the above
Specialization(s)/Department(s).
iv) The Institute reserves the right not to fill up any or all the positions advertised in case
of non-availability of suitable candidates.
v) Candidates applying for more than one post should submit separate application form
for each post. The application(s) should be accompanied by separate Demand Draft(s).

vi) Reservation policy for SC, ST, and OBC etc will be applicable as per UGC
norms/Govt. of India rules, as amended from time to time. For availing Reservation/Age
relaxation, the Category (for SC/ST) and OBC(Non Creamy Layer) certificates must be submitted
in prescribed format along with the application and should indicate whether the candidate would
like to be considered under the same. Women and PWD candidates are encouraged to apply.
vii) Reservation for Persons with Disabilities [PWD] shall be applicable as per Govt of
India rules subject to producing the Disability Certificate on the prescribed format issued by the
Competent Medical Board.
viii) Age limit (Preferable)
Associate Professor 45 years
Assistant Professor 40 years
ix) The date for determining the upper age limit, qualification and/or experience shall be
the cutoff date [i.e. 30th May 2015].

x) Mere fulfillment of the above-mentioned qualifications/ experience etc., does not entitle
a candidate to be called for interview. Where number of applications received in response to an
advertisement is large, it may not be convenient or possible for the Institute to interview all the
candidates. The Institute may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a
reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than that of the minimum
prescribed in the advertisement. The candidates should, therefore, furnish all the qualifications
and experience possessed in the relevant field, over and above the minimum qualifications
prescribed.
xi) Candidates who are presently employed should submit their applications through
proper channel only.
xii) Relaxation in age, over and above the stipulated limit, educations qualification and/or
experience will only be considered in case of exceptionally meritorious candidates with the
approval of the Competent Authority.
xiii) Both ways 2AC Train fare is reimbursable to outstation unemployed candidates invited
for the Interview.
xiv)Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and fee once paid will NOT be
refunded on any count nor can it be held in reserve for any other recruitment or selection
cycle/process.
xv) NO INTERIM INQUIRY OR CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE ENTERTAINED. The
candidates are advised to check the DIAT (DU) Website www.diat.ac.in for related information
from time to time.
