IN PURSUIT OF SELF-RELIANCE IN CRITICAL TECHNOLOGIES RELEVANT TO NATIONAL SECURITY, DRDO FORMULATES AND EXECUTES PROGRAMMES OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH, DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT, TESTING AND EVALUATION OF VARIOUS SYSTEMS, SUBSYSTEMS, DEVICES AND PRODUCTS REQUIRED FOR DEFENCE OF THE NATION. RAC invites Online Recruitment Applications (ORAs) through RAC Website http://rac.gov.in for the post of Scientist ‘B’ in DRDS Cadre of DRDO under
Direct Recruitment Scheme 
SPECIAL RECRUITMENT DRIVE FOR OBC/SC/ST CANDIDATES 



II. AGE LIMITS (as on closing date of advertisement):
(a) OBC (Non-creamy layer) : Not exceeding 31 years
(b) SC/ST : Not exceeding 33 years
III. Relaxation in the upper age limit:
(a) The upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years for serving Central Civilian Govt. Employees working in posts which are in the same line or allied cadres and where a relationship
could be established that the service already rendered in a particular post will be useful for the efficient discharge of the duties of the post recruitment to which has been
advertised.
(b) The upper age limit is relaxable for Ex-Servicemen including Ex SSCOs/ECOs as per rules in vogue.
(c) The upper age limit is relaxable for Persons with disability (with minimum 40% disability) as per Govt rules in vogue for Item No. 2 (Computer Sc. & Engg.) only.
IMPORTANT NOTES
• Date for determining the eligibility of all candidates in every respect including OBC (Non-creamy layer) status shall be the prescribed closing date for submission of
online recruitment applications (ORAs).
• The applicants are advised to fill in all their particulars carefully in the online recruitment application as submission of wrong / incomplete information may lead to
rejection through computer based shortlisting, apart from debarment by the RAC.
• Date for the interview on which the shortlisted candidate is required to bring the printout of his/her online application along with other documents at RAC/ place of
interview in original, shall be intimated separately.
• Before submitting the online recruitment application, the candidates are advised to go through carefully the details of posts and contents of the advertisement
published and displayed on the website http://rac.gov.in as well.
• Mobile phones are not allowed in the premises of RAC/Interview hall.
IV. The applicants should ensure that they satisfy the essential eligibility criteria upto the closing date of advertisement. The prescribed Essential Qualifications are bare
minimum and mere possession of same does not entitle candidate to be called for personal interview. In the event of number of applications being large, RAC will adopt short listing
criteria to restrict the number of candidates to be called for personal interview to a reasonable number by adopting any one or more of the following methods:
(a) On the basis of educational qualifications higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement or on the basis of higher percentage of marks secured in the
 prescribed essential qualification duly supported by the documentary evidence.
(b) By holding a Screening Test.
(c) By following any other method.
The candidates should mention all qualifications possessed including the essential minimum qualifications.

Note 1: If any document/certificate furnished is in a language other than English or Hindi, a duly self attested transcript of the same is to be attached.
Note 2: The candidates are advised to submit/lock the online recruitment application well in advance without waiting for the closing date.

V. HOW TO APPLY
Candidates are required to submit their applications online alongwith legible and lighter file containing scanned copies of certificates for essential and higher educational
qualification alongwith percentage of marks (duly supported by the marksheets), experience claimed if any in the column pertaining to employment history of online
application, document/certificate in support of last pay drawn (if applicable), a recent passport size colour photograph (size not exceeding 30 KB; resolution of 110 x 140
pixels) and the required fee through RAC website http://rac.gov.in. The maximum file size of each attachment should not exceed 500 KB and it must be legible when a
printout is taken. All candidates, whether in Govt. service or in Govt. owned organisations, should also submit their applications online directly to the Recruitment and
Assessment Centre (RAC) and such candidates are required to upload a signed declaration (as per the proforma available at RAC website) that they have informed their
Cadre Controlling Authority (CCA) in writing, that they have applied for the post in DRDO. However, such candidates, if in regular service whether in permanent or
temporary capacity, are required to produce a “No Objection Certificate” from their Cadre Controlling Authority (CCA) as per the proforma available at RAC website
at the time of interview, in addition to the aforesaid declaration. If Cadre Controlling Authority (CCA) considers withholding the NOC, the candidate should inform
RAC within 30 days of the closing date. Candidates are advised to retain a copy of the online recruitment application (pdf) generated after locking of online application
form.
VI. Application Fee of ` 50/- (fifty) shall be paid online. No fee is payable by SC/ ST/ PH (with minimum 40% disability) / Women candidates.
VII. Only Indian nationals need to apply.
VIII. Fare concession is given by railways to unemployed youth in second class when travelling to attend interviews for jobs in Central Govt. Deptts. To avail free railway tickets,
the candidate is required to submit an attested copy of (i) call/interview letter (ii) a copy of application form to railway authorities, if the place is connected by rail. The
candidates, who are unemployed, are advised to utilise this facility given by the railways, as no rail fare will be paid by this office in such cases.
IX. Candidates will have to produce all certificates/ marksheets, in original, for verification at the time of interview.
X. Applications received without legible scanned copies of certificates/ marksheets for the requisite essential educational qualification, proof of age certificate and incomplete
applications will be summarily rejected. No correspondence would be entertained in this regard.
XI. Candidates desirous of applying for more than one item must apply separately for each item.
XII. Selected candidates will have the liability to serve anywhere in India.
XIII. Number of vacancies are tentative and may vary.
XIV. CANVASSING IN ANY FORM WILL DISQUALIFY THE CANDIDATE.
