About NIAB
NIAB, an autonomous institute under the aegis of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, is aimed to harness novel and emerging biotechnologies and create knowledge in the cutting edge areas for improving animal health and productivity. The Institute’s research focus is on infectious diseases, animal genetics and genomics, reproductive biotechnology, nutritional enrichment, and bioinformatics. The Institute aims at translational research leading to genetic enhancement of Indian Livestock species and development of novel vaccines, diagnostics and improved therapeutic molecules for farm animals. The Institute plans to promote bio entrepreneurship by providing supportive and stimulating academic and creative environment for commercial tenants involved in the development of farm animal based products and services.

Applications are invited for the following temporary research positions to work in various ongoing research projects at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), Hyderabad.
Research Associate: (Two positions)
Fellowship: 22,000 plus 30 % HRA p.m.
Position# 1
Qualifications and Experience: Ph.D. in Immunology/Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/Microbiology/Virology or related field from a recognized university. Experience of working on Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) or Peste des Petits Ruminants Virus (PPRV) and prior experience in large animal experiments, particularly vaccine trials and immunological evaluations would be desirable. Candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with funding bodies, peer-review groups and government agencies.
Position# 2
Qualifications and Experience: Ph.D. in Biotechnology or any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university with two to three years of postdoctoral experience. Experience in working on Inflammation, Lipid Biochemistry and Enzymology as evidenced by publications in standard refereed journals. Candidate with good oral and written communication skills including manuscript writing and presentation of project reports will be preferred.
Senior Research Fellow: (Two Positions)
Fellowship: 18,000 plus 30 % HRA p.m.
Position# 1 (Genomics/Proteomics-Molecular Modeling)
Qualification: M.Sc. or Integrated BS-MS with two years research experience/M.V.Sc./M.Tech/M.Pharm in Bioinformatics or any branch of life sciences.
Experience: Expertise in Genomics/Proteomics-Molecular Modeling/Computer aided drug design/Structure-activity relationships, as evidenced by publications in standard refereed journals. Candidate with experience in computational and experimental research will be preferred.
Position# 2 ( Infectious diseases)
Qualification: M.Sc. or Integrated BS-MS with two years research experience/M.V.Sc./M.Tech/M.Pharm in any branch of life sciences.
Hands on experience in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology and animal model of infectious diseases. Candidates with prior experience in Leptospira research will be preferred.
Project Assistants: (Six Positions)
Fellowship:16,000/(NET-JRF/GATE) + 30% HRA p.m.; 12,000/(Others) + 30% HRA p.m.
Infectious Diseases Group (Five Positions)
Qualification: M.Sc./M.V.Sc./M.Tech/M.Pharm/Integrated BS-MS/BVSc/B.Pham/B.Tech in any branch of life sciences.
Hands on experience in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Protein Chemistry and animal cell culture. Candidates with prior experience in working with bacterial or viral pathogens are preferable.
Candidate with prior experience in Leptospira research will be preferred for project fellow position (one) in Leptospira lab.
Bioinformatics Group (One Position)
Qualification: M. Sc/M.Tech/ Integrated BS-MS in Bioinformatics.
Experience: Prior experience in genome data analysis.
