Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR is a lead Centre of Indian Space Research Organisation
situated at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR has facilities of Solid
Propellant Production, a Rocket Motor Static Test Facility and Launch Complexes for variety of
rockets, Telemetry, Telecommand, Tracking, Data Acquisition and processing facilities and other
support services.

General conditions/Instructions:
1. The posts are temporary, but likely to continue.
2. Those applying for more than one post should apply separately for each post.

3. Age limit: 18-35 years (for post Nos. 11 to 27) and 18-30 years (for post Nos. 28 & 29) as on
17-07-2014.
4. Relaxation in upper age limit by 05 years for SC/ST candidates and 03 years for OBC
candidates, wherever posts are reserved.
Ex-servicemen and Persons With Disabilities (PWD) are eligible for upper age relaxation and
reservation as per Government of India Orders.
6. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC have to submit attested copies of Caste Certificates
issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format applicable for reservation in jobs
under Government of India.
In respect of OBC candidates, reservation will be available only to candidates, who do not fall
in the Creamy Layer. OBC Certificate must specifically include the clause regarding "Exclusion
from Creamy Layer" issued by competent authority in prescribed format applicable for
reservation in jobs under Government of India and should be updated/valid as per OM
No.36012/22/93-Estt (SCT), dt.08-09-1993 issued by Department of Personnel & Training,
Government of India at the relevant point of time i.e., at the time of submission of on-line
application.
7. Selection Process: The qualification prescribed is the minimum requirement and possession
of the same does not automatically make the candidates eligible to be called for written
test/interview. Based on the academic performance and bio-data, initial screening will be
done to short-list candidates for taking up written test/interview. Only short-listed candidates
will be called for written test/interview as the case may be.
8. Travelling Allowance: Outstation candidates called for interview will be paid to and fro Second
Class Railway Fare by the shortest route from the address given in the web application to the
place of interview or normal bus fare, whichever is less, on production of proof of journey
such as the Railway Ticket Number(s)/PNR Number(s) or Bus Ticket(s) etc.
9. Candidates intended to apply for the post of Sub Officer (Post No: 27), have to meet the
following Physical fitness standards and Endurance Test standards. Also, they are required to
furnish a certificate of Physical fitness as per the format at Annexure-I, issued by a Medical
Officer not below the rank of Asst. Civil Surgeon of a Government Hospital, along with the
print out of on-line application, otherwise such applications will not be considered.
Minimum Physical Standards:
(i) No Deformity (inter alia, bow legs, knock knees or flat foot shall be a disqualification) (ii)
Height - 165 Cms (iii) Weight - 50 Kgs (iv) Chest - 81 Cms (Normal) 86 Cms (on Expansion)
(v) Distant vision : 6/6 without wearing glasses or any other aid (vi) Near vision : Normal
(vii) Night or colour blindness shall be a disqualification (viii) Each eye must have full field of
vision (ix) Squint or any other morbid condition of the eyes, or of the eyelids or either eye
liable to the risk of aggravation or recurrence, shall be deemed to be a disqualification.
Endurance Test Standards:
(i) 100 meter run in 13 seconds (ii) High Jump : 5 ft (iii) Long Jump : 17 ft.(iv) Putting the
shot of 7.27 Kg (16 lbs): 24 ft (v) Throwing the cricket ball : 225 ft. (vi) Rope climbing (only
hands) : 14 ft. (vii) Pull-ups : 10 (viii) 1500 mtrs run in 5 minutes 15 seconds. (Candidates
have to choose and qualify any of the five events given above)
10. Stipulated experience, wherever applicable, will be reckonable only after acquiring the
essential qualification.
11. Candidates will have to produce proof of the details furnished in their applications submitted
on-line as and when required.
12. Candidates called for interview will have to produce all relevant original documents, including
No Objection Certificate, if employed already, in proof of details furnished in their applications
submitted on-line, at the time of interview. If any information furnished on-line is found to be
wrong or false, the candidate will not be interviewed and TA will not be paid.
13. At present the place of posting is SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota, but the selected candidates are
liable to be posted in any of the Centres/Units of the Indian Space Research
Organisation/Department of Space situated in India as and when required.
14. For Scientific & Technical posts (Post Nos. 11 to 24), the Organisation has a progressive HRD
policy and provides an excellent growth potential for the right individual through its periodical
Merit Based Performance review system (called Merit Promotion Scheme) delinked from
availability of higher post, by which the staff can be evaluated for the advancement of their
career in the Organisation.
15. The candidates should ensure while applying that they fulfill the eligibility criteria and other
requirements and that the particulars furnished by them are correct in all respects. In case it
is detected at any stage of recruitment process that the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility
criteria and/or does not comply with other requirements and/or he/she has furnished any
incorrect/false information or has suppressed any material fact(s), his/her candidature is
liable to be rejected.
16. Applications that are not in conformity with the requirements indicated in this advertisement,
incomplete applications and those received after the last date will not be entertained.
17. SDSC SHAR reserves the right not to fill up all or any of the posts, if it so decides.

• The application for on-line registration will be hosted in the SDSC SHAR website between 28-
06-2014 (1000 hours) and 17-07-2014 (1700 hours). .
• Interested & eligible candidates may visit our website at www.shar.qov.In to register their
applications on-line between 28-06-2014 (1000 hours) and 17-07-2014 (1700 hours).
• Upon registration, applicants will be provided with an on-line Registration Number, which
should be carefully preserved for future reference. E-mail ID of the applicant will have to be
given in the application compulsorily.
• After On-line submission, it is mandatory for the applicant to send the printed
application form (confirmatory copy of application) duly signed along with the
following documents by ORDINARY POST without which online application will not
be considered.
1. Attested copies of all testimonials in proof of educational qualifications including
mark lists, caste, Valid Driving License, abstract of Driving License, experience
(if any) etc.,
2. A 'No Objection Certificate' from the employer concerned in respect of those
applicants who are employed under Central/State Government/Public Sector
Undertakings/ Autonomous Bodies.
The above documents should reach the following address within ten days of registering the
application and in any case not later than 28-07-2014.
