Position Description:

Reporting to the VP of ERP Delivery, this full-time employee will be responsible for the successful delivery of project planning and resource planning for middle-market Public Service ERP Offerings. Prior Public Sector Project Management or Public Sector Project Engagement Manager experience is a firm requirement of the position with an emphasis on experience with middle-market clientele.

While initial travel may be varied, candidates should be able to travel Monday-Thursday with no restrictions. Candidates who cannot/will not travel will not be considered. Candidates may be located in any US city as a base location, although a higher priority will be given to candidates who are centrally located in the mid-west or central south region of the US (no extreme remotes) and / or who live in and around Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities will include:

• Using prior Public Sector Project Management or Public Sector Engagement Management experience, develops and maintains Project Task Plan and tracks actual hours to projected task hours
• Develops and maintains the Project Dependency Chart
• Provides biweekly status to client Project Manager and CGI Management
• Coordinates and schedules activities of Project Team members
• Maintains a Project Issues Log, gains consensus on issue assignment and resolution with the client Project Manager, and highlights any unresolved issues during project meetings and in status reports
• Maintains the Risks Log, gains consensus on priority and mitigation strategy with the client Project Manager, and highlights high priority risks during project meetings and in status reports
• Delivers projects on time and within budget
• Collaboratively defines and enforces project scope according to Contract terms
• Collaboratively provides project financial management, including invoice review/approval, submission of forecast, and monthly financial reporting
• Creates project change order requests per client needs
• Negotiating and initiating projects, including development of budgets, resource plans and statements of work
• Lead projects with full accountability for contract management, project financials, client relationships, and service delivery quality
• Build and maintain relationships with senior executives within our client organizations
• Report on delivery status to executive bodies within the client organization and within CGI
• Manage and mentor project managers and other senior delivery consultants
• Identify and develop new business opportunities
• Contribute to CGI project management practices and mentor more junior project managers

Required Level of Education:

• PMP Certified
• Relevant Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Must Have - Skills:

• 10-15 years of experience as a Project Manager with progressively complex projects
• 8+ years of Public Sector Application Upgrade, Planning, Engagement Management or Delivery Experience
• Must have a background with integration and infrastructure projects at some point
• Must have proven experience in initiating new projects and controlling projects (scope, risk and issue management, status reporting at all levels, planning, estimating, resourcing, scheduling)
• Must have experience with MS Project. Must have strong understanding and with quality methodologies

• Proven ability to build and manage complex projects
• Excellent management and leadership skills
• Can foster personal commitments within a team, manage conflict, solve problems
• Can coach team members based on experience with application development methodologies
• Strong negotiation skills
• Ability to work within senior levels of an organization and adjust messages accordingly.
