Post Description

Pay Scale
  Rs. 15,600-39,100/- ( PB-3) plus Rs. 6,600/- (Grade Pay). Total emoluments excluding TA and HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 50,700/- p.m. approximately.
  Not exceeding 40 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 43 years for Other Backward Classes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant up to five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualificaiton (s)
Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Economics or Degree in Mining
Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent.

Five years experience in a supervisory capacity in resources appraisal market survey and investigation of economic aspect of mineral resources and production and utilization of minerals.

Note- The qualifications are relaxable at the Commission’s discretion in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualificaiton (s)
  i) Master’s Degree in Mining Engineering/Doctorate Degree in Geology/ Applied Geology /Economics preferably in Mineral Economics from a recognized university or equivalent.
ii) Degree in Statistics.
iii) Working knowledge of computers with special emphasis on commonly used software in office.
  To supervise the work of Assistant Mineral Economists and Mineral Officers related o collection, compilation, tabulation and analysis of data pertaining to mines, minerals, mineral based industries, exploration agencies etc. for preparation of notes, reports, reviews etc. for preparation of various publication like Indian Mineral Year Book, Bulletin on Mineral Information, Market Survey Reports, Consumption of Copper-Lead-Zinc etc. Preparation and periodical updation of Directory of Mining Leases, matters related to Mineral Advisory Board.
  One year.
Head Quarter
  Nagpur with liability to serve anywhere in India.
Other Details
  General Central Service, Group ’A’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The posts are permanent.
