The University of Hyderabad invites online applications from Indian
Citizens for the posts of Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Deputy
Librarian and Assistant Librarian.
The recruitment of Deputy Librarian and Assistant Librarian shall be
made in accordance with the UGC Regulations on minimum qualifications for
appointment of teachers and other academic staff in universities and colleges
and measures for the maintenance of standards in higher education 2010.
The details of posts, payment of registration fee, minimum
qualifications/ experience/requirements and other conditions, address and the
last date for submission of filled-in applications, etc. are available on the
following website of the University. The last date for submission of filled in
application is 16-06-2014.

1.0 ) NOTE:
UGC Regulations on minimum qualifications for appointment of
teachers and other academic staff in universities and colleges and
measures for the maintenance of standards in higher education
2010 approved by Executive Council of this University are an
integral part of this notification. For details of UGC Regulations -
2010; please visit www.ugc.ac.in.
ONLINE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION:
The applicant has to submit his/her application online as well as hard copy with
relevant enclosures and send to the address mentioned below at point 2.7
1.0 Allowances admissible to the employees of the University in accordance with the rules of the Government
of India/UGC which may change from time to time.
2.0
REGISTRATION FEE AND SUBMISSION OF FILLED IN APPLICATIONS:
Application Form shall be filled in by the applicant and sent to the University as under:
2.1) Affix full signature on the application (hard/print copy) ‐ This is treated as original application.
2.2) Registration fee : Rs. 1,000/‐ + Bank Charges Rs. 25/‐ for candidates under ‘General’ and
'OBC' categories, or Rs.350/‐ + Bank Charges Rs. 25/‐ for candidates under ‘SC/ST/PWD’
category ( whether the post is reserved for these categories or not ),

Applicants may also transfer required amount of fee into University Account No. 32 22 36

And enclose the transfer slip with the application towards registration fee (nonrefundable).
Separate application along with a separate transfer slip must be submitted
if a candidate wants to apply for more than one post. The transfer slip must be
placed/tagged at the top of the application.

A crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 1,000/‐ for candidates under ‘General’ and 'OBC'
categories, or Rs.350/‐ for candidates under ‘SC/ST/PWD’ category ( whether the post is
reserved for these categories or not ), drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of
Hyderabad, payable at Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), India, should be sent with the
application towards registration fee (non‐refundable). Separate application along with a
separate Demand Draft must be submitted if a candidate wants to apply for more than
one post. The Demand Draft must be placed/tagged at the top of the application.
2.3) Please write the name of the post applied for and your name and full postal address on the backside
of the DD without fail.
2.4) Paste (do not staple/pin) a passport size color photograph in the space provided on the right top
portion of the Application

Enclose good copies (not originals) of certificates/publications/pre‐prints/reprints etc., to the
Application in proof of all information (date of birth, qualifications, experience,. publications claim
for API Score, etc.) furnished in the application. Write 'Enclosure sl.no._____ ' (as mentioned/filled
in the application) at the right top corner of each copy of the certificate/document enclosed to the
application.
2.6) Please obtain the endorsement of your employer on the last page of the application (in case the
applicant is in service). This is mandatory.

Finally, after attending to the requirements as mentioned from 2.1 to 2.5/2.6 above, send the
Application in a good envelope (please write on the top‐left side of the envelope the Name of the
post) to the Assistant Registrar, HR Section, Room No.225 – first floor, Administration Building,
University of Hyderabad, Central University P.O., Gachibowli, Hyderabad500 046 (A.P), India on
or before 16062014 at 5.00 pm.
NOTE : In case the applicant is in service, and delay is expected in getting endorsement of the
employer concerned on the original application and in sending it to the University, the applicant
may submit Advance Copy of the application, with all enclosures, to the address given above
directly (with or without employer's endorsement on the Advance Copy). In such case, the Demand
Draft towards registration fee should be enclosed to the Advance Copy. A xerox copy of the
Demand Draft may be enclosed to the original application being sent through proper
channel/employer. If the original application through proper channel has not been received by the
University by the last date mentioned in the employment notification, the candidate/applicant will
have to submit ‘NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE’ obtained from his/her employer to the University at
the time of interview, if he/she is called for interview.

i. A Master’s Degree in Library Science / Information Science / documentation
with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven
points scale and consistently good academic record.
ii. Five years experience as an Assistant University Librarian / College Librarian
iii. Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work and
professional commitment, computerization of library
Desirable Qualifications:
iv. A M.Phil. / Ph.D. Degree in library science / information science /
Documentation/Archieves and manuscript-keeping/computerization of library
All other terms and conditions of UGC Regulations 2010 shall also be applicable.

4.5.3 ASSISTANT LIBRAIAN
i. A Master’s Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation
Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks (or an
equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a
consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library
ii. Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any
other agency approved by the UGC
iii. However, candidates, who are, or have been awarded Ph.D degree in accordance
with the “University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for
Award of Ph.D Degree), Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement
of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and
appointment of University Assistant Librarian
All other terms and conditions of UGC Regulations 2010 shall also be applicable.

Remarks Only candidates with “Good Academic Record“shall be eligible for consideration
for the positions of Deputy Librarian and Assistant Librarian.
Under the term 'good academic record' the candidate must have obtained 50%
marks and above in graduation level.
A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the Graduate and Master's level for the
SC/ST/Physically Disabled (Physically and Visually disabled) categories for the purpose of
eligibility and for assessing good academic record during the direct recruitment.

Council of this University are an integral part of this notification. For

G E N E R A L :
1. Applicants are advised to submit the applications to the University well in advance, without waiting till the last
date, to avoid postal delay or any other unforeseen problems. The University will not be responsible for any
postal delay at any stage.
2 Persons already in Government service/Autonomous bodies/Universities/PSU should apply through proper
channel along with Vigilance Clearance and Integrity Certificate, failing which their applications will not be
entertained. Attested copies of ACRs/APARs of last five years be also sent separately
2. It will be open to the University to consider, on its own, names of suitable candidates who might not have applied.
However, candidate shall not claim it as a matter of right.
3. The prescribed qualifications and experience are minimum and the mere fact that a candidate possesses the same
will not entitle him/her for being called for interview. The University reserves the right to restrict the candidates
to be called for interview to a reasonable number on the basis of qualifications and/or experience higher than the
minimum prescribed. Call letters to attend interview will be sent only to the short-listed candidates by Email or
SMS or Speed Post or Registered Post or Courier service. No correspondence will be made with applicants who
are not short-listed/not called for interview.
4. Canvassing in any form on behalf of any candidate will definitely disqualify such a candidate.
5. Selection will be made on the basis of candidates’ previous record and their performance in the interview.
6. Experience and qualifications will be reckoned as on the preceding day to the date of employment notification
(not the date of publication of the employment notification). Good and clear photocopies of all certificates
must be attached to the application.
7. Those who have joined the University service on or after 1st January 2004 or are joining are covered under new
pension scheme introduced by the Government of India (Central Government).
8. Applications incomplete in any respect will not receive any consideration at all.
9. Applicant must write name of the post/specialization, reserved/ unreserved post, his/her name and full address on
the back of the Demand Draft.
10. The University reserves the right to fill any consequential vacancies, and /or to increase/decrease the number
of posts at the time of selection and make appointments accordingly.
11. All disputes are subject to Hyderabad jurisdiction.
12. The term 'Good academic record' means as having obtained 50 percent marks in graduation level. A
relaxation of 5% may be provided at the Graduate and Master's level for the SC/ST/Physically Disabled
(Physically and Visually disabled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good
academic record during the direct recruitment.
13. Outstation candidates called for interview will be paid contribution equivalent to return single second class
railway fare towards journey expenses, within India, on production of tickets.
14. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay at any stage in the recruitment process.
15. Applicant must write name of the post, his/her name and full address on the back of the Demand Draft, if
registration fee is paid through Demand Draft.
16. Relaxation in upper age limit will be allowed as per Government of India Guidelines. A copy of the valid
Caste Certificates as per Government of India orders should be enclosed.
